Black Entertainment Television’s
ComicView kicked off its 14th hilarious season on
this week with new host Sheryl Underwood Sheryl’s
down-to-earth approach, likable style, and ability
to use humor to drive home her sometimes controversial
point-of-view is what makes her one of the funniest
and topical standup comics today. Underwood makes
her mark as ComicView’s first-ever sole female
host. Recently, BET viewers voiced their preference
for Sheryl as their favorite comic by logging onto
BET.com and voting her into the winner’s circle
as the BET Comedy Awards Dodge Platinum Mic Stand-Up.
Underwood’s prize for nabbing the award was
a new Dodge Charger, and her acceptance speech was
one of the most memorable of the evening.

Sheryl was deeply touched by the devastation of Hurricanes
Katrina and Rita in the Gulf Coast region Underwood,
who spent several weeks in New Orleans earlier this
summer taping Comicview, immediately lent her support
to national relief efforts appearing on BET’s
S.O.S. (Saving OurSelves) Hurricane Relief Telethon
and in Steve Harvey’s Saving Lives With Laughter
All-Star Comedy event at The Great Western Forum in
Los Angeles.

Sheryl
Underwood is a brilliant comedian, one of the funniest
and topical standup comics working on the road today.
Just this season, Sheryl appeared twice weekly
as the newest CO-host of BET's talk show "Oh Drama!"
Sheryl was an immediate hit.
BET quickly recognized Sheryl's way with words
and sharp appeal, called on Sheryl to host her
own show "Hollah!" As host, Sheryl
invited three guests to discuss newsworthy topics in
a casual setting. "Hollah!" on BET, Tuesday
and Thursday evenings at 9:30. Not only that Sheryl
will appear on Showtime's Laffapollozza and on
